Fu ManYat, a Hong Kong artist, his works have been incorporated
in “International Watercolor Artists” (Ponte Vecchin Press) and exhibited in
Italy, Switzerland, Nepal, Thailand, Pakistan, Hungary, Taiwan, Albeniz,
Vietnam, Kosova, Indonesia, Portugal, China. Trained in music from his youth,
he carries a B.A and M.A Music Degree, an education that has influenced him
throughout his life.
Fu paint moments where he is physically present, preferring
to capture the emotional essence through direct interaction in his travels. To
be continuously inspired to paint by the surrounding beauty offered in this
world, and channel these sparks into collages that can document his
experiences, constitute in Fu’s words the greatest treasure in life.
Through the process of painting, Fu came to realize the
musical aesthetics he has been steeped in over the years subtly finding ways to
manifest itself, increasingly noticing between fine arts and music a
commonality. In Western classical music, beauty is enhanced by balancing
structural form and complimenting musical expression; similarly, expression in
visual arts is created with contrasting elements juxtaposing an overall balance
of spatial unity. Exploring these
aspects has led to many new insights throughout Fu’s works, and has been his
inexhaustible source of creativity.
In applying traditional realism, he hopes to represent and
share the joy and beauty that life has bountifully provided wherever he goes.
Over the years, he has run courses on water colors for Hong Kong Professional
Teachers’ Union and the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the
Chinese University of Hong Kong.
