Alain Page - President of the "Alizarines" - Watercolor Association in Paris, France.
At 10 years, a meeting with Paul Emile Victor gave him the
desire to paint; He draws inspiration from the photos of the explorer to paint
landscapes.
His first experiments were in gouache, then in oil painting
and finally, in watercolor. The latter technique is for him the most difficult
to master: the watercolor is full of unexpected; He observes the colors that
fall one in the other in the middle of the puddle of water and everything
becomes more precise as the paper dries. His work is built in small touches.
He prefers the subjects of landscapes and architecture, the
prospects. He gleaned his subjects during trips, at the turn of a street, a
market, at the expense of meetings sometimes unexpected. From his photos, he
recreates the atmosphere of his travels.
